KK ULTRA bit - the all-round talent
From the remount to the fully trained professional athlete, in the arena or on the cross-country course, the special features of the KK ULTRA bits ensure a high level of acceptance even for horses with a small mouth or a thin tongue. To meet all requirements, the KK ULTRA mouthpiece is available with a whole range of side pieces, from the classic loose ring snaffle to the universal bit. We also offer eggbut bits and D-ring bits for horses that need to be assisted with a lateral support, e.g. when riding turns. For an additional effect on the poll, there is the KK ULTRA kimblewick, the KK ULTRA universal bit or the 3-ring bit. For double bridles, there are bradoons with loose rings or fixed side pieces, and drivers will also find what they are looking for with a KK ULTRA Liverpool driving bit.
What is special about our KK ULTRA bits
As you probably already know, the shape of the SPRENGER bits is based on scientific research into the anatomy of the horse's mouth. Modern horse breeding has produced significantly smaller and more delicate mouths, which the bit world has had to adapt to. The KK ULTRA bits were the first SPRENGER bits to feature the intelligent rotation of the centerpiece, thus ensuring an anatomically correct position of the bit between the tongue and the palatal arch.
With conventional double jointed bits, the two joint eyes can press uncomfortably towards the tongue and palate and also lie at the same position as the horse's lower bars. You can certainly imagine that pressure can be very uncomfortable for your horse, especially with a thin tongue and pointed bars. The 45° inclination of the lozenge allows the joint eyes to lie flat on the tongue without exerting pressure on the palate or tongue. In addition to the inclination, the middle section has been shortened so that the joints are not placed directly over the bars. This significantly improves the effect and acceptance of the bit in contrast to conventional double jointed bits. The KK ULTRA bits are therefore very popular with professionals and leisure riders of all disciplines and are used successfully across all training levels.
Straight bit shape for fleshy lips
Does your horse have fleshy lips? Then you should choose a straight bit shape, such as the KK ULTRA bits, instead of a curved one, such as the SPRENGER Dynamic RS bits. The reason is as follows: When the reins are tightened, the sides of the bit move slightly backwards and towards the corner of the mouth. If the shape is curved, the distance between the bit and the first molar is smaller, leaving little space for the lips. For horses with a lot of lip, the lip can quickly become trapped between the bit and the molar.
KK ULTRA bits for young horses
Are you looking for a bit for your horse to start training and want your four-legged friend to have confidence in the unfamiliar metal in its mouth? Then a suitable bit is particularly important. You can find out how to determine the right size here: How do I find the right bit?
We recommend our KK ULTRA loose ring snaffle for training horses. The loose rings of the snaffle can slide in the bit ring hole and thus cushion the movements caused by a restless horse's mouth or an inexperienced rider's hand. The anatomically adapted shape of the KK ULTRA bits with their 45° rotation of the lozenge ensures a comfortable position in the horse's mouth and exerts no pressure on the sensitive palate or the bars. The pressure on the tongue is distributed evenly across the width of the tongue when the reins are tightened.
Even though the double jointed loose ring snaffle is particularly suitable for training young horses, it is a true all-rounder and can be used as an everyday bit in all disciplines. The SPRENGER KK ULTRA bits are also ideal as a bradoon.
KK ULTRA bits made from SENSOGAN
All KK ULTRA models are made of SENSOGAN to make your horse's new or even first bit particularly tasty. This alloy from SPRENGER specifically stimulates the flow of saliva, which in turn stimulates chewing activity. The chewing movement of the horse leads to a relaxed topline and concentration on the bit. For a trusting contact with the bit and a motivated working attitude in your sport and leisure partner.
