The Herm. Sprenger Metallwarenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG in Iserlohn has been one of the best-known manufacturers of metal goods in the equestrian, dog sports and boating sectors since 1872. APPRENTICESHIP AS A
TOOL MECHANIC
(M/F/D)

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
  • Manufacturing punching tools, casting and injection molds or devices using lathes, milling, grinding and drilling machines
  • Reading technical drawings and adhering to the dimensions specified therein
  • Assembling the individual parts into a finished tool
  • Testing, checking and commissioning the finished tools
  • Maintenance and servicing of tools and machines

Training as a tool mechanic is a 3.5-year recognized apprenticeship in industry and the skilled trades.

WHAT YOU SHOULD IDEALLY BRING WITH YOU:
  • Intermediate school leaving certificate or very good secondary school leaving certificate
  • Diligence (e.g. for the precise, accurate production of workpieces)
  • Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination (e.g. when sawing, milling, filing and grinding metal parts)
  • Technical understanding (e.g. when assembling components and carrying out maintenance work)
  • Enjoy manual work
  • Interest in the school subjects of technology, mathematics and computer science

TRAINING AS A SURFACE COATER (M/F/D)

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
  • Coating and finishing metal surfaces using surface techniques and other processes
  • Preparing workpieces and coating solutions
  • Applying the coatings, e.g. by immersing the workpieces in galvanic baths (nickel-plating, chrome-plating, etc.)
  • Checking and, if necessary, post-treatment of the workpieces
  • Cleaning the containers used and disposing of the electrolytic solutions properly
  • Maintenance and servicing of the systems

Training as a surface coater is a 3-year recognized apprenticeship in industry and the skilled trades.

WHAT YOU SHOULD IDEALLY BRING WITH YOU:
  • A good secondary school leaving certificate (Fachoberschulreife)
  • Diligence (e.g. when monitoring the dwell time in the dip bath or checking the coating thickness)
  • Observation accuracy and attentiveness (e.g. noticing irregularities in the coating during the ongoing inspection of the coating processes)
  • Manual dexterity (e.g. when pre- and post-treatment of workpieces)
  • Ability to make decisions and react quickly (e.g. quickly recognizing and eliminating faults in the production process)
  • Interest in the school subjects of chemistry, physics, mathematics and work/technology
