What special bits are there?
Correction bits - support for training and education
Correction bits are ideal for correcting undesirable behaviour. With precise action, they promote clear communication between rider and horse without compromising comfort. The KK correction bit is suitable for correcting tongue faults or for horses that go strongly against the hand.
MAX-Control bit - The Lock-up Bit for More Influence at the Right Moment
Thanks to its innovative design, the MAX-Control bit offers the option of acting as a fixed bit (mullen mouth) when the horse moves strongly against the reins. This flexibility makes it ideal for horses that are able to get strong in between a constant contact.
Multi Joint Bit and French Link Bit - For Sensitive Aids
Like most SPRENGER bits, our Multi Joint bit is made of SENSOGAN and is therefore readily accepted by horses and encourages chewing activity. At the same time, the flexible joints of the Multi Joint Bit, also known as the Waterford Bit, create the greatest possible flexibility, which is particularly helpful for horses that tend to bite down on the bit. Horses that are mouth-sensitive and therefore hold on to the bit usually also get on well with the Multi Joint bit.
At first glance, French link bits look like a normal double jointed bit to many people. However, they differ in the flat centrepiece, which lies vertically on the tongue and can therefore exert pressure on the tongue. The French Link bit therefore enables clear communication and is suitable as a working bit for horses that occasionally need a more distinct action in order to remain attentive.
The Hackamore
The hackamore is a bitless bridle that works on the poll, bridge of the nose and chin groove. It offers a good alternative to riding with a bit, e.g. because the horse prefers bitless bridles or because riding with a bit is temporarily not possible, e.g. after dental treatment. As with bits with a leverage effect, the longer the lever, the greater the effect of the hackamore. At the same time, the longer the lever, the more delayed the effect. As the horse's nasal bone is very sensitive, hackamores should be used with caution and by experienced riders!
