The PAWLOOZA takes place on21 and 22. SeptemberatStrandbad Lörick in Düsseldorf
On both days, you can expect not only lots of great exhibitors with very special offers and promotions - just like us! - but also an interesting stage program. Among others, Veterinarians and dog trainers will report on various topics and on Saturday, the German Petfluencer Awards 2024awarded, so this is your chance to meet various influencers live!
But even those who aren't interested in the presentations and prefer something more active will get their money's worth. While the two-legged friends can browse through delicious food standssample and buy plenty for their petsstore, the real fun is reserved for the dogs who come along to the festival. Spoil your dog with a visit to the Dog Beauty Lounge, with a delicious dog ice cream or find your new favorite treats at one of the many stands. Want even more action for you and your dog? No problem! On the Free-running area your dog can really let off steam and if you like it wet, you shouldn't miss the Dog swimming in two pools!
What is dog swimming?
You heard right, at PAWLOOZA your dog has the chancein the pools of the outdoor pool to swim laps and have lots of fun. It doesn't matter how brave your four-legged friend is in the water. Dog swimming is strictly supervised and The number of dogs in the pool at any one time is limited, so that thesafety of each dog can be guaranteed.
Why dog swimming in outdoor pools?Dog swimming is often offered at the end of the swimming season in various outdoor pools throughout Germany. The idea behind it: Dogs can take full advantage of the health benefits and physical workout of swimming in a highly visible and controlled environment. In doing so, you don't have to worry about rocks hidden in the murky water or sudden dangerous currents. As the pools are prepared and cleaned for the winter afterwards, the operators don't have to worry about dog hair and dirt and you might even find your new favorite outdoor pool for a dog-free visit next year at an event like this!
What do you take with you for a dog swim?
On the PAWLOOZA, clear rules applyRules for the right equipment for dog swimming. Your dog needs one thing above all:A suitable dog harness!
Dogs without a harness are not permitted to enter the dog swimming area.The reason behind this is simple, if a dog runs out of breath or needs to be taken out of the water quickly for any other reason, it is easier and safer for everyone involved with a harness.
Your dog is not wearing a harness and you don't have one at home? No problem! As an exclusive partner of PAWLOOZA, we rent out harnesses.Our Y-harnessesat the entrance to the pool. For a deposit, your dog can be part of the dog swim and also test directly whether a SPRENGER harness for future events and adventures should find its way into your home.
Also remember totake a dog towel with you to dry off after the swim, especially if the weekend in September turns out to be a bit cooler, so that you and your dog can enjoy the rest of the festival day.
In addition, there are two important points:
1. For dogs that are not good swimmers, dog life jackets are available for hire in addition to harnesses. These are organized by PAWLOOZA. You can use them if you already know that your dog finds it difficult to swim for long periods of time or in deeper water. In addition, the pool supervisors may also decide that your dog needs a life jacket if, after observing your dog in the pool, they believe that this is necessary.
2. The pool is reserved for dogs, that isUnfortunately, you can't go in the water. In addition, no toys may be thrown into the water, to prevent possible scuffles. So think carefully beforehand whether your dog will still go into the water.
Keep to these rules and of coursethe basic rules of behavior and netiquette for dogs and humans in your head, nothing stands in the way of a trip to the pool at PAWLOOZA!

Which dogs are not allowed at the PAWLOOZA Dog Festival?
The following dogs are not allowed to enter the PAWLOOZA Festival:
- Dogs with evidence of acute illness.
- Dogs without a valid rabies vaccination.
- Dogs that have been administered attenuating substances.
- Females in heat, pregnant or lactating and puppies under 6 months of age.
In addition, owners with dogs that exhibit torture breeding characteristics should inform themselves carefully about the rules applicable to their dogs, which have been established by the Düsseldorf Veterinary Office.
