The Baucher bit
The Baucher bit, also known as the Fillis bit or B-ring bit, is a versatile aid for riders who value a steady position of the bit and a targeted, clear action. Due to the characteristic low attachment of the mouthpiece to the side pieces, the bit remains particularly stable in the horse's mouth. This characteristic makes the Baucher bit the ideal choice for horses that react sensitively to a bit that is too flexible or have difficulties with contact.
A key feature of the Baucher bit is its stable position. Unlike a loose ring snaffle with continuos rings, the Baucher bit remains still, giving the horse more comfort and security. The special side pieces place the mouthpiece close to the tongue and also ensure that the bit cannot slip against the incisors - an advantage, especially for horses with a short mouth gap. The fixed side parts of the Baucher bit also provide lateral support, e.g. when riding turns.
Single jointed and double jointed Baucher bit
Single jointed Baucher bit: This version concentrates the pressure more on the bars and relieves the middle of the tongue. It is ideal for horses that react sensitively to pressure in the middle of the tongue. Thanks to the 45° rotation of the joint, which is typical of our TURNADO bits, pressure peaks are avoided and an even effect is achieved in our TURNADO Baucher bit.
Double jointed Baucher bit: Here the pressure is distributed more evenly on the tongue and bars. Thanks to the anatomy of our KK ULTRA bits with the 45° forward inclined joints and the shortened centerpiece, the KK ULTRA Baucher bit lies anatomically correctly between the tongue and palatal arch.
