SPRENGER single jointed bits
Single jointed bits consist of two bit shanks that are joined in the middle. When the reins are tightened, the middle of the mouthpiece straightens accordingly, so that the pressure is increasingly directed to the edges of the tongue and the middle of the tongue is relieved. For horses that prefer a more even distribution of pressure over the entire tongue, double jointed bits are more suitable.
With conventional single jointed bits, the contact surface of the bit shanks is uneven, as the two shanks are of different lengths due to the manufacturing process. In the SPRENGER Dynamic RS and TURNADO bit lines as well as in the NATHE bits, the joints are inclined forwards by 45° to ensure an even contact surface.
Single jointed bits made of Sensogan
To make your horse's new single jointed bit particularly appealing, we recommend our SENSOGAN bits. This further development of the AURIGAN alloy consists of copper, manganese and zinc. Thanks to its oxidizing properties, the copper it contains specifically stimulates the horse's chewing activity, so the bit is well accepted and at the same time the jaw muscles are loosened by the chewing movement. For a happy and motivated horse.
You can recognize the SPRENGER SENSOGAN bits by the black ring on the side pieces.
Variety of single jointed bits at SPRENGER
Single jointed bits are available with a variety of side pieces. One of the classics is probably the water snaffle or the olive head bit. For a little more lateral support, the D-ring bit or the shank bit are popular. However, more specialized bits such as the Pelham or the retractable snaffle bit are also available with a single-jointed mouthpiece. You are guaranteed to find the right bit for your four-legged sports partner in the SPRENGER range.
