Sandblasting on the SPRENGER TURNADO bit

The special feature of the TURNADObit is thejoint that is inclined forwards by 45°, which is emphasized by the sandblasting. This ensures that the pressure is distributed evenly on both sides of your horse's tongue. In contrast to conventional single jointed bits, which have an uneven contact surface due to the different lengths of the bit shanks, the SPRENGER TURNADO guarantees an even contact on the tongue. This eliminates the need to turn the bit regularly. This innovative technique also helps to counteract the horse's natural crookedness and promotes harmonious cooperation between you and your horse.

Nutcracker effect with the bit

The so-called nutcracker effect can occur with single broken bits when the bit straightens up and presses into your horse's palate when the reins are pulled harder. The TURNADObits from SPRENGER specifically prevent this problem. Thanks to the 45° inclination of the joint, the bit eyes lie flat on the tongue and thus prevent pressure on the tongue and palate. Who are TURNADO bits suitable for?

The TURNADO water snaffle is a real all-rounder and is suitable for horses of all ages and training levels. Particularly popular is the new TURNADO olive head bit, which lies more quietly in the mouth due to the fixed side pieces and enables a more direct rein aid. The olive head bit is only available in SENSOGAN and is an ideal addition to the TURNADO range. The TURNADO shank snaffle and the TURNADO 3-ring bit also extend the range of options. The shank snaffle offers excellent lateral restraint thanks to its sturdy side pieces, while the 3-ring bit gives you the option of varying the pressure on the poll by using different rein buckles. The 3-ring bit can be a valuable aid, especially for horses that are reluctant to accept aids upwards.

TURNADO bits for young horses?

We generally recommend the KK ULTRA water snaffle bit for training young horses, but the TURNADO bit is also ideal for horses that are sensitive to pressure on the middle of the tongue. The loose rings of the water snaffle enable a gentle transfer of rein aids, as the bit can slide in the ring. Thanks to the 45° angle of the joint, the TURNADO bit offers even pressure distribution, which is particularly beneficial for sensitive horses.
